  • Eliminates the need for student's to carry cash.
  • Allows parents to deposit money to a student account for use on any day...eliminating the morning money hassle!
  • It is simple, convenient and designed to improve our students less time in line and more time to eat.

f you would like to make an online deposit into your child's school meal account, please click the "Send Money to School" link on the left.

You can view your student's purchases also at the Send Money to School site.  There is no fee for viewing details of student's accounts.  You will need their 6 digit Student ID to set up this account.  You will find this on all notices sent to you from Meal Magic, your student can ask any cashier or you can call Sue at 517-706-5017.  Please leave your student's name and that you are calling from Williamston School District.



The policy of the Williamston Community Schools Food and Nutrition Service department is to offer healthy breakfasts and lunches to all students. Each student has a meal account set-up in the meal point of sale computer system. The computer keeps track of all payments and purchases. Any positive or negative balance will carry from year to year and building to building. You can view your child’s account for no charge at There is a flat $2.00 service for adding funds with a credit card but you can add funds to all your students with one transaction at 


 As a student’s account balance approaches a zero balance or becomes negative, the following procedures will apply.

 ** Low Balance emails are generated automatically when the student's account gets to $5.00 or below.  If you would like to receive these automatic notices contact the Food Service Main Office at 517-706-5017 **


Discovery and Explorer

· When a student’s meal account reaches a low balance of $10.00 a notice will be sent via email or home with the student during that week.

· When a student’s account reaches a negative $10.00, an alternative lunch will be served.  The alternative lunch will consist of a bowl of raisin bran cereal, an apple and milk for a cost of $1.50.  The alternative breakfast will consist of graham crackers and milk for a cost of $.75.  The alternative meals will be served until the charges are paid in full.

· Students will be verbally notified of their account balance at the cash register when the balance falls below $5.00.

· Any negative balances at the end of the school year will be reported to the district business office for collection.


Middle School/High School

· Students will be allowed to only charge full meals up to $10.00. No A la Carte items will be allowed to be charged into the negative.

· If a student with a negative balance attempts to purchase ala carte items with cash, the money will be first applied to the negative balance.

· Students will be verbally notified of their account balance at the cash register when the balance falls below $10.00.

· Any negative balances at the end of the school year will be reported to the district business office for collection.
